Denimani Livingstone of Grainline and Public Functionary present the PF x Grainline Mentee Exhibition on June 27 and 28.

This show highlights the work of Mohamed Abdalla, an emerging artist and designer. Mohamed’s collection was developed through the Public Functionary Studios Incubator Residency Program and Grainline’s Emerging Artist Platform. These programs have helped him grow as an artist and as a small business owner. Through mentorship, training, and real-world experience, Mohamed has strengthened his creative skills and built a stronger foundation for his future career.

Throughout July, visitors can see and buy pieces from Mohamed’s collection at Grainline. There will also be public events in the store featuring Mohamed, listed below:

  • Dates: June 27 & 28

  • Time: Noon - 5 p.m.

  • Location: Grainline, 1621 Hennepin Ave, Suite 100, 55403

About the Artist:
Mohamed, a bag artisan and sculptor, born and raised in Sudan, and currently based in Minnesota, USA. He founded LZRWORLD, a brand that reflects his passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and storytelling. His work blends traditional techniques with instinctive creativity, using leather, wood, and clay to create functional and expressive art.

At the heart of LZRWORLD is a deep commitment to upcycling and sustainable fashion. Mohamed works primarily with reclaimed, deadstock, and second-hand materials, guided by the belief that luxury and sustainability can coexist. Each bag is hand-stitched, and each sculpture is shaped with care, reflecting memories, heritage, and a desire to create meaning through material.

Mohamed’s inspiration stems from my home country and the personal history I carry—moments and encounters that find new form through craft. He relies on old tools and self-taught methods, avoiding strict rules and allowing instinct to lead the way.

This Arts & Culture Vibrant Storefronts is funded by the City of Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department
