Ragamala Dance Company presents Sacred Earth, directed by the mother-daughter team of Ranee and Aparna Ramaswamy.
Ragamala Dance Company’s signature work, Sacred Earth, is a powerful hour-long performance of dance and music that celebrates the beauty of the natural world. The piece moves as one continuous journey, blending energetic dance with spoken poetry to create a ritual-like experience.
Inspired by Indian art forms such as kolam rice flour drawings, Warli wall paintings, and ancient Tamil Sangam poetry, the work reflects the vision of Artistic Co-Directors Aparna Ramaswamy and Ranee Ramaswamy. Sacred Earth reminds us that humans and nature are deeply connected, and that caring for the earth is essential to our shared future
