Applications for Bridge Fund for Dance Program now open
June 2, 2025 - The City of Minneapolis’ Arts & Cultural Affairs Department (ACA) is pleased to announce the Bridge Fund for Dance Program, a new funding opportunity designed to support the local dance ecosystem and broader dance community. This program aims to energize Minneapolis’ internationally recognized dance scene while attracting artists, audiences, and creative experiences to downtown.
City of Minneapolis Announces Return of Citywide Student Dance Program
April 28, 2025 - It’s time to get moving, Minneapolis! Today, Mayor Frey and the City of Minneapolis announced the return of a beloved citywide student dance program -- bringing dance education to every Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) site serving pre-K through 12th grade and at the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s 47 recreation centers.
After the closure of the Cowles Center for Dance Education in 2024, the city’s dance community rallied for something new—something bold—and this program delivers. It’s funded through the Affordable Cultural Access (ACA) 2025–2026 Bridge Fund for Dance and represents a major step forward in equitable arts access for youth across the city.
