How Do We Build A More Artist Friendly Central Ave Cultural District?

Ashley Koudou will be hosting a series of four gatherings focused on building connections, fostering dialogue, understanding challenges, and strengthening our district's arts & culture community.

May 20th, 2024 – This session will focus on sustainability and accessibility—how we build a more artist-friendly cultural district and what role the city can play in supporting long-term creative spaces. Light food and refreshments will be provided

We’ll continue building on themes from earlier conversations and explore ways to turn community ideas into action.

Location: Eastside Co-op Community Room. 2551 Central Ave N

Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Accessible Bus Lines: 17W, 10U, 10N, and 32B

Free parking available in Co-op parking lot.

Art-A-Whirl is the largest open studio tour in the nation, and it happens in Northeast Minneapolis! It’s a great opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with hundreds of artists, and purchase original artwork.

This event is free and open to the public.

2025 DATES AND HOURS:
Friday, May 16th – 5:00-10:00 pm
Saturday, May 17th – 12:00-8:00 pm
Sunday, May 18th – 12:00-5:00 pm

The printed NEMAA Directory & Art-A-Whirl Guide will be available beginning in May throughout Northeast at studio buildings, libraries, and area businesses.

Our popular Coloring Contest is back! with drawings by by Seneca Norvell — find pre-printed at Eastside Co-Op and local libraries, or print your own at home!
