Join shanty artists Alo Osberg and Andrew Young for Community Builds! Learn about timber framing and help create their project, Disinteshanty.
Attend one or both activities. On December 14 the artists will lead community in a test raising of their timber-framed shanty structure. On December 20 the community will help build timber frame in fill for their structure’s walls.
Light in the Darkness - Solstice Lanterns and Community Singing
Come to Minneapolis' new folk school, the Center for People and Craft, for a free, drop-in lantern-making workshop from 4-5:45pm. At 5:45, we’ll light our lanterns and walk together outdoors through the darkness and into St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, where renowned songleader Sarina Patridge will lead us in an hour of all-abilities community singing.
