Three new funding opportunities are available. Grants range from $5,000-$18,000 depending on the category of support.

June 14 2022 | The City of Minneapolis’ Arts & Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce funding for 12 artist-led working teams for projects that provide creative healing and support to Minneapolis communities.
Mexico in Minneapolis
May 12 2022 | Artists David Sánchez Beltrán and Lucero Paniagua Ortuño from Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, visit Minneapolis May 29 - June 7 for arts residency. The City of Minneapolis’ Arts & Cultural Affairs and the University of Minnesota’s Weisman Art Museum will host a Mexican Folk Arts Residency to strengthen and elevate the presence of and access to Mexican traditional art forms in Minneapolis.
Call for Artists: Creative Response Funds Available for Community-Based Artists to Support Community Well Being
Mar 17 2022 | The City of Minneapolis’ Arts & Cultural Affairs invites applications for a second round of the Creative Response Fund-Community Well-Being grant. Community based artists in Minnesota are invited to gather a team and apply for grants of up to $15,000 per project, 12 projects will be selected in 2022.
Applications are now open. The application deadline is April 13th 2022.

Expressions of everyday royalty light up a fashion runway at George Floyd Square
Jan 25 2022 | Tamiko French, a 2021 Creative Response Fund (CRF) recipient speaks to her own brand of regal-ness and healing vibrations in her production of The Rock Royalty Experience. Synergizing earth science, ancestral alternative healing practices and functional fashion, Tamiko presented a high energy runway-style fashion show at George Floyd Square and showcased her own welded, fire-created and hand wrapped crowns, representing in her words, “grace and regal-ness under fire.”
Indigenous futurisms as healing take the stage in Minneapolis
Dec 14 2021 | Using magical realism and a journey into the Maya cosmovision, Creative Response Fund (CRF) recipients and artists Magdalena Kaluza and Rebekah Crisanta de Ybarra, performed Star Girl Clan, an intergenerational story of emergence and healing transformation. The show called on ancestors and cellular memory to inspire a new generation of descendants to look up into the stars and to care for the earth.

Sept 16 2021 | Internationally renowned artists visit Minneapolis, focus on reviving and enriching Mexican traditional art forms. In celebration of Latinx Heritage Month, the City of Minneapolis Office of Arts, Culture & the Creative Economy and and the University of Minnesota’s Weisman Art Museum will host a Mexican Folk Arts Residency to strengthen and elevate the presence of and access to Mexican traditional art forms in Minneapolis.
